APHC Cruise 2006 - Whale Watching Excursion

Holland America fetched us from the hotel and helped us make connection with the Sunday excursion we had booked. We boarded a bus that took us to a boat which was to take us out to see whales. They promised that if we did not see whales they would give us our money back.

The bus was parked next to where our ship was docked. Our bags went on board and we went on the bus.

The little white dot is a bald eagle.

We found a group of Sea Otters

Herbert Glacier

Our first sight of a Humpback Whale

We were treated to the sight of Humpback Whales engaged in "bubble-net feeding" I got a small video clip with my little Fuji Z1

Shipmate Thomas Scheuzger got some wonderful closeups with his telephoto lens.

Some of our cruise friends were an a little blue boat that was very close to another group of whales.

Here is a photo that Cluph took from the little boat.

Awesome!
