Saturday Morning Farmer's Market

In the parking lot of a former elementary school now turned into a Chili's resturant is Tulsa's thriving farmer's market. Located at 15th and Peoria in Tulsa's midtown the market bustles from 7:00 to 11:30 AM every Saturday morning.

We arrived about 9:00 and some stalls had already sold out and gone home. The early shoppers get the best goodies.

Wonderful vegetables fresh from the garden -- Leeks, fennel, radishes, beets, broccoli, asparagus.

Delicious pastries.

Pies, cakes, and quiches.

Heavenly crusty bread.

Handmade ceramics and various crafts.

An excellent band doing Neil Young covers (among other things).

A variety of herbs ready for planting.

Daylillies to set out.

Onions

Turnips, bibb lettuce, kale

Bags of spinach, new potatoes

Cabbage, carrots, squash, broccoli, brussel sprouts, sold by real farmers!

Even baskets of fresh cut flowers. Everything for sale at Tulsa's Farmers Market.

Silly me left the wrong comment on your blog!

Anyway those were really nice pictures and a nice market as well.

The vegetables look really fresh and the pastries would go down well while being entertained by the live band.

Very interesting market to be at! Thanks for the photographs and for walking us through the market :)

Warmest regards,
John
